June 4, 1976
- The basic plan for construction of the Mang-Hyang Cemetery was finalized and the Cheonwon-gun Mang-Hyang Cemetery Building Promotion Committee was established.
October 2, 1976
- Management Office of the Mang-Hyang Cemetery completed at Cheonwon-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Burial and joint memorial services were held for the first 213 remains returned to their homeland
January 1, 1983
- Status elevated to the Management Office of the National Mang-Hyang Cemetery Transferred from Cheonwon-gun to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfares (current Ministry of Health and Welfare) (Presidential Decree No. 10986 dated December 30, 1982)
August 18, 1999
- Mang-Hyang House (Charnel House) completed
September 26, 2013
- Renamed as the Office of National Cemetery for Overseas Koreans (Presidential Decree No. 24770 dated September 26, 2013)
