June 4, 1976
- The basic plan for the construction of the Mang-Hyang Cemetery was finalized.
- The Cheonwon-gun Mang-Hyang Cemetery Promotion Committee was established.
October 2, 1976
- The Management Office of the Mang-Hyang Cemetery was completed in Cheonwon-gun, Chungcheongnam-do.
- The first burial and joint memorial services were held for 213 sets of remains returned to their homeland.
January 1, 1983
- Status Elevated: The Management Office of the National Mang-Hyang
- Cemetery was transferred from Cheonwon-gun to the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs (now the Ministry of Health and Welfare)(Presidential Decree No. 10968, dated December 30, 1982)
August 18, 1993
- Completion of Mang-Hyang House (Columbarium)
September 26, 2013
- Renamed as the Office of the National Mang-Hyang Cemetery (Presidential Decree No. 24770, dated September 26, 2013)
