Eligibility for Burial
1. Cemetery Burial
- 1Overseas Koreans who had been residing abroad prior to December 31, 1988.
- 2Victims of Japanese military sexual slavery, Sakhalin Koreans, and others who were forcibly conscripted or relocated abroad against their will and later returned to Korea.
- 3Individuals deemed eligible for burial by the Minister of Health and Welfare.
- 4Spouses of those eligible under categories ①–③.
2. Columbarium Enshrinement
- 1Overseas Koreans who have been residing abroad for at least 20 years at the time of application
- 2Individuals whose remains have been repatriated with government administrative or financial support (e.g., through the Repatriation of Remains Program).
- 3Individuals deemed eligible for enshrinement by the Minister of Health and Welfare.
- 4Spouses of those eligible under categories ①–③.
- 5Individuals eligible for cemetery burial who prefer enshrinement in the Columbarium due to family circumstances.
Exclusion from Burial
Individuals who have engaged in activities harmful to national interests
Individuals condemned by the overseas Korean community for anti-national conduct
